The Patricia A. Lather Travel Award Fund
Professor Patti Lather taught in the College of Education at The Ohio State University for over twenty-six years and during this time became an established international scholar. A provocative and leading voice in feminist theory and research, qualitative methodology and poststructuralism, Dr. Lather lives an academic life based on crafting and sharing ideas. A prolific writer and published author, she has an extensive record of invited speeches and keynotes and a 30+year record of presentations at major conferences. Her exemplary scholarly practices are a model for all academics—think and write deeply, present and workshop ideas, rewrite and publish.
In times of diminishing funds for emerging scholars to present their work, the Patricia A. Lather Travel Award Fund will support graduate students in the Department of Educational Studies to present qualitative research at professional conferences. Your contribution will support the critical need to fund new and developing scholars in qualitative research and continue the legacy of Dr. Patricia Lather’s scholarly praxis. Thank you for your contribution to this important effort.
